About Us:
Adair Rural Fire / Rescue is an all volunteer fire department located in Benton County, Oregon, 6 miles north of Corvallis.
The district is primarily a rural interface / bedroom community of 18 square miles.
The Rural Fire District was established in 1974.
Charles D. Harris has been our Fire Chief since 1990.
"Chief Chuck" is also a career Lieutenant/Paramedic for the Albany Fire Dept.
The department operates out of two stations.
The main station consists of:
(1) Rescue
(1) Brush 4x4
(2) Engines
(1) 3000 gallon Tender
Two (2) staff cars also reside there.
The Fire Chief's office and drills are facilitated here as well.
The sub station consists of:
(1) Brush 4x4
(1) engine
In addition to responding units, the substation is also a repair/maintenance shop.
There are three highways that run through the fire district:
99 West
US 20
Independence highway.
Neighboring fire departments are:
Corvallis
Albany
SE Polk Fire # 1.
Automatic and mutual aid agreements with our neighboring departments
support our districts during alarms.
Adair Rural does not transport EMS patients.
Our Ambulance service is provided by the Corvallis Fire Dept.
Drill nights are Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
