Spring Burn Season is OPEN and back yard burning is permitted as of March 1, 2026.  Always check the daily online ODF/DEQ Advisory to see if burning is allowed today and at what times.  http://smkmgt.com/burn.php  .

When burn seasn is open, the responsible party must check  ODF/DEQ http://smkmgt.com/burn.php. website the day they plan to backyard burn.  Find the BOLD Section titled “backyard burning inside special control areas:” that will display if current environmental conditions allow burning that day and at what times. Follow that advisory. In the Adair Rural Fire District, the station is not staffed 7 days a week. There is no requirement to call the local fire department or local ODF office before you backyard burn as requested on the ODF/DEQ website.
