Chief Aaron C. Harris

Aaron C. Harris has been your Fire Chief since July of 2019.

Aaron grew up in our district and first volunteered with Adair Fire from age 14-17.  Aaron joined the Navy after high school and became a Hospital Corpsman.  He spent seven years on active duty and six year in the Navy Reserves.  Most of that time was spent providing medical care to Marines.

After completing his time on Active Duty, Aaron returned home and rejoined the Adair Fire Department to continue working towards his career in firefighting. In parallel, he became a Resident Intern Firefighter at Corvallis’ Station 6 and  earned an associate degree in Fire Science and Paramedic Technology from Chemeketa Community College. During this time he continued to serve in the Navy Reserves and because of the events of 9/11, was recalled to Active-Duty service with the Navy.  He was sent to Iraq in 2003 with a Mairne Corps Infantry Battalion.  Upon returning from Iraq he married his wife Katharine Harris, who was just starting her carrier in the US Air Force.  During this time Aaron went back to school and became a Registered Nurse.  He was a supervisor at the Level 1 Trauma Center in Oklahoma City and helped start the only Pediatric Emergency Department in Anchorage Alaska.

In 2014, Aaron and family moved back to Adair Village allowing him to rejoin the Adair Fire Department  while working at Samaritan’s Emergency Department in Albany.  Aaron worked his way up Adair’s ranks to become Chief in 2019.  Chief Harris’ combination of worldly experience and lifetime understanding of our district position Adair Fire to provide the highest level of care and service for our community.
